Housing Division

Housing & Code Enforcement are now Divisions of the Community Development Department. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you have housing related questions, please call (530) 879-6300; for Code Enforcement call (530) 879-6330.

The Housing Division services City and former Redevelopment Agency housing loans. Please click on the "Contact Us" link to the left for inquiries.

The Housing Division works with both non-profit and for-profit developers to increase the supply of housing that is affordable to households at or below the moderate income threshold, including seniors and those with special needs. The Housing Office administers the City’s HOME and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) programs which may be used in a variety of ways to meet housing, infrastructure, public facility and community service needs. The Housing Division is also responsible for Housing Successor Agency activities.

CDBG Public Service applications received by the February 1, 2019 deadline can be found here. These applications were considered at the Ad-Hoc Citizen Advisory Committee meetings on March 7 and 12.

Greater Chico Homeless Task Force

The Housing Division provides administrative support to the Greater Chico Homeless Task Force (GCHTF). Task Force meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m in the Council Chambers Conference Room One, 421 Main Street. The agenda for the next meeting CAN BE FOUND HERE. The GCHTF has a Facebook page.
